Description
Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education CURE View Charity Profile
Coalition for Urban Renewal & Education (CURE) is a 501c3 social policy think tank that provides a national voice of reason on issues of race and poverty in the media and poor communities. CURE works directly with conservative policy makers to further market-based approaches to poverty and to promote the interests of black conservative churches and inner city outreaches across the nation. CURE publishes monthly bulletins, quarterly policy reports and hosts annual conferences. CURE founder and president, Star Parker is also a nationally syndicated columnist for Scripps/ Howard News Services with 400 newspapers nationwide.
The philosophy of CURE is that the role of government is to protect life, liberty and property: not to monopolize education, manipulate commerce, and dehumanize charity work. The mission of CURE is to get the truth out that the answer to poverty is not the welfare state.
CURE bridges the disconnection between the interest of the nation as a whole as outlined by the founders and the existing world of political action as demonstrated by current black leadership. CURE is a direct mechanism to challenge the ideas of liberalism and promote concepts of freedom and personal responsibility.
